Violence Research Initiative
The Violence Research Initiative at Leiden University combines expertise in violence research to help inform public policy and practice and pave the way for violence prevention. We carry out research, offer academic courses, professional training and workshops.
The Initiative is a hub of expertise within the Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism for the integration of research, practice, and policy on interpersonal violence. In close collaboration with the Peace Informatics Lab we study interpersonal violence and work towards violence prevention taking a unique interdisciplinary approach. This approach combines perspectives from public health, law, psychology, criminology, and policy-based research.
